ACTOR | WRITER | DIRECTOR
Soon to be a Gadigal based artist, Alice Schlipalius (she/her) is an actor and theatre maker originally from Naarm/Melbourne, and is a core artist of Wallaby Blue Company. She graduated from WAAPA in 2024 with an Advanced Diploma of Performance (Acting), having completed a Diploma of Acting the year prior. Alice has a wide range of experience as a performer both locally and internationally, including Juliet in Romeo and Juliet (dir. Jennifer King) with Prague Shakespeare Company and Touchstone in As You Like It (dir. Kevin Hopkins, Phil Sumner, Claire Nicholls) with Australian Shakespeare Company.
Since graduating, she was involved in Wallaby Blue’s debut production ‘Footyboy’ for Perth FRINGE WORLD, which was a finalist for the Martin Sims Award. In 2025 her debut play ‘CONFESSIONAL’ had its WA premiere in an independent sell-out season at The Jonesway Theatre, and she also toured to Edinburgh Festival Fringe with ‘The Real Australia’ and ‘Articulate.’ In April, ‘CONFESSIONAL’ will make its east coast premiere at Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Outside of theatre making, her other interests lie in intimacy coordination- mostly recently she worked in this role for ‘This is Our Youth’ by Kenneth Lonergan at 2025 Perth FRINGE WORLD.
As a theatre maker, Alice is passionate about showcasing stories that ask audiences to confront things about themselves they keep secret, an interest that has drawn her towards predominantly verbatim theatre in her artistic practice. She is interested in writing queer, female dominated narratives, and adapting classical texts for modern audiences.
